Have I mentioned lately that I absolutely ADORE the Internet? Ha! Well I do.

Not all of it, mind you, but there are some amazing things going on out there, and if you’re not absolutely delighted by what you see when you surf, then you’re not looking in the right places.

One of the most DELIGHTFUL things I’ve discovered recently is Pinterest. This is the most amazing resource for a creative scanner like myself, where you can surf the web, and “pin” pictures that you find to a board of your choosing. You can comment on the pinned images, and they link back to their original source page. So for example,, you can pin pictures of beautiful, intriguing food and when you click on it, it will open up the page with the recipe!

If you haven’t seen this yet, you have to check it out. And when you do, follow my boards (click on the image above to get to my page and click “Follow All”) and I’ll follow you back so I can see what you think is delightful!!

I’ve been following SARK on Twitter for a while now, and there I heard about her new telecourse called WINS – Write it NOW with SARK.

SARK has been one of my favorites for quite a long time. I have framed versions of her art posters How to Really Love a Child, and Dogs Are Miracles With Paws, and I own many of her books. I remember her poster, How To Be an Artist, hanging on the wall in my childhood. I truly find her work to be delightful.

(You can find these items and more HERE in her e-shop!)

But there is a dark side that I’m almost ashamed to admit. A part of me feels intimidated by her work. Her work feels like it’s so meaningful to me that it feels a little bit like SHE already did work that I was meant to do. Now logically I know that is not true. With a fair bit of introspection I’ve come to realize that my work will probably have a little bit of SARK in it, just like a great modern painter is influenced by all the painters they learned about in Art History. This is how it was meant to be. This is the result of HER mission to delight and inspire. I honor her by being influenced by her.

And just like that, the opportunity came up to work with her personally through an online community and telecourse. Wow! I’d been pondering the concept of investing in myself, financially, and here was a really cool way to do that. My sweetie, who is ever-so-supportive, told me to go for it! Eep!

This is all pretty exciting, and I can’t wait to share the process with you. I’m starting by working through the SARK-in-Your-Pocket program:

I’m working on setting up a workspace and figuring out how I’ll get the privacy I need to make the calls. I’m really excited to start! If you’re interested in doing this too there’s still time to sign up, but it starts July 13th!

You’ve probably figured out that this whole jennieofcourse.com thing is a newish endeavor.

It is!

My old blog was more focused on art and creativity, and less on personal growth and introspective mumbo jumbo. (Is that self-deprecating?) It was good though, when I did it! The thing is, art projects are an intermittent thing for me. I like to do them, and I have a lovely studio full of supplies, but I don’t go and do art every week. I do art intensely in spurts.

Most recently I participated in a public art project for our local nature center. I made a fiber art birdhouse! It turned out great, and it will be auctioned this coming weekend to benefit the nature center. Check out the posts!
